Valentine's Day Nail!

     Hello again lovelies! I come to you today with exciting news and pretty nails~

     I have sent in an application to be enrolled in a nail technician class provided by a local high school. It's a year long class that will cover the basics of manicures and pedicures to the art of acrylics and gel nails. It will even include working/owning a salon and all things in between! I turned it in today and will be awaiting a response in the next weeks on if I've messed up any of the information! (Which I don't think I did! ;D)

     Now onto the nails~ 

     This nail design was appart of my mix and match nails I did in prep for Valentine's day. (For which I did nothing but get my puppy's shots.) I had five different designs (one for each finger) and I decided this was my favourite. It's a red and pastel pink ombre with sparkles on the red. (Which appears pink in these pictures.) The polished I used for the sparkle was Fairy Dust by China Glaze. (Bottle pictured) It's a beautiful holographic glitter with good cover in one coat. I, later, did a manicure with all black nails with Fairy Dust over top. Those nails were stunning!

A Fox's Collection

     I don't have much, that I know. My collection is nothing to brag about. I do, however, love it none the less. I have a couple collections of polish but nothing too fancy. (Not yet, anyways.) What better way to start a nail blog than to show off all the polish you own?! 

     This is my polish rack, hanging nicely on my wall for all to see. It's made to hold up to 90 polishes but currently I'm a little short. ;D The top row holds all my Sinful Colors polishes. A few over flow into the second row but those two are duplicates that I have. (Perhaps a giveaway?) The second row holds my China Glaze polishes. I have one China Glaze collection which is the Metal Crackle collection. On the third row I have part of my Color Club collections. I own three collections and one due from Color Club including a Winter Affair Duo, the Wicked Sweet collection, Halo Hues collection and unknown collection that I can't seem to find on their website. (I'll do a post about each collection at a later date!) 

     The bottom two and a half rows are misc polishes including ORLY, OPI, Konad, Sally Hansen, etc. They are my random polishes that I've collected over the years as now I keep more to the brands I know such as those listed in my first post. (And the ones I have the most of!) 

     As for my base coats, top coats and other nail treatments I have a very limited selection. I have one top coat that I use called Pro FX. I use the Quick Dry High Gloss version. I also have a clear polish that came in a Color Club collection that I assume is a top coat. (Pictured above) I currently am on the hunt for a base coat and other such nail treatments. When I get them I shall do reviews on them. Until then, thank you for reading and coming along on my adventure!

A Fox's First Step

     A fox might as well start somewhere; I will start here. I am Nova Luehrs. I refer to myself as a fox. The reason for that is still being decided upon. I'm 17 years old and have been collecting nail polish ever since I borrowed a neon orange nail polish from a friend I met at the Rec Center, wore it home, and tried for the entire evening to hide it from my mum. (I failed to notice she'd seen it already and didn't mind a bit.) This part of the story begins a bit more recently.
     Nail polish for me is a hobby. A way to pass the time and a way to keep my mind off the less lovely things in life. Until last year (2012) I hadn't really begun my collection in a serious way. I bought pretty nail polish here and there but nothing like I do now. (I had to buy a polish rack just to keep them off my shelves!) My favourite polish brands are (in no particular order): Color Club, Sinful Color, China Glaze & OPI. My favourite polishes from my own collection might just be my next post. ;) 
     I am starting a nail blog because I have an obsession. One that I would like to share. I find there are many nail blogs but I wish to show my own side of the nail world's story. This blog will take you (and I) on a journey through the discoveries and wonders of the world of nail polish as I see it. I will show you my favourite polishes, new manicures, inspirations and more as this blog grows! I hope you will join me along the way.
